Job Overview
The College of Physician and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) invites applications for the position of Laboratory Technician at BPS-10 for its Islamabad center. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and procedures according to established protocols
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality
- Collect, process, and analyze biological specimens including blood, urine, and tissue samples
- Maintain accurate records of test results, laboratory procedures, and quality control measures
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of hazardous materials
- Assist in research projects by preparing samples and conducting specialized tests
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and place orders when necessary
- Provide technical support to medical students and faculty members
- Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment and reagents
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory workspace
- Prepare laboratory reports and documentation as required
- Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures
- Ensure proper disposal of medical waste according to established protocols
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and test results
- Participate in laboratory meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship: Pakistani nationals only
- Age Limit: 21-30 years (age relaxation applicable as per government rules)
- Gender: Both male and female candidates are encouraged to apply
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience
- Physical Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit to perform laboratory duties
- Language: Proficiency in English and Urdu
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) from a recognized institution
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) preferred
- Valid registration with Pakistan Medical Laboratory Technologists Board
- Computer literacy with basic knowledge of laboratory information systems
- Certification in laboratory safety and biohazard handling
